This position interacts via phone and face-to-face with customers in a vibrant and fast-paced garden center providing friendly, professional, and excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions with our point of sale system to support the smooth experience for each customer.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to lift or push up to 25-30 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Proficient with fundamental arithmetic skills

• Register skills preferred or able and willing to learn

This position delivers bulk items, plants, and other materials safely and on time.  Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials by hand or with equipment, verifying orders for accuracy, and following all safety procedures. The role represents Fernwood Garden Center on the road and at customer locations, requiring professionalism and clear, friendly communication at all times.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license - Class B or equivalent preferred or willingness to secure such license

• Clean driving record

• Experience in delivery driving and operating heavy equipment

• Ability to lift or push up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Comfortable using electronic devices such as tablets, handheld scanners, etc.

• Strong diagnostic skills

• Able to troubleshoot, especially things mechanical

• Strong time management skills

This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing plant health throughout the garden center by ensuring proper watering practices for healthy plant growth as well as the safe use, maintenance, and storage of watering tools and systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to lift or push up to 25-30 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Physical stamina for moving plants and hoses

• Willingness to learn about various plants and their needs

• Strong time management skills

This position assists with landscape installations and involves a variety of hands-on tasks to ensure landscapes are aesthetically pleasing, healthy, and functional. This position plays a key role in representing the company at the garden center, on the road, and at customer locations and requires professionalism and clear communication at every point of contact.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license

• Hold or willing to pursue State certification for chemical use

• Understand daily work hours may vary requiring more or less than 8 hours, as projects or weather dictate

• General knowledge of plants and plant care

• Able to lift and push up to 50 lbs, bend, squat, and work outside in various weather conditions

This position provides specialized pruning, maintenance, and enhancement services to the garden center as well as residential and commercial clients ensuring landscapes remain healthy, vibrant, and aligned with the garden center and client goals. This position is also part of the landscape install team as a technician with additional skills required and plays a key role in representing Fernwood Garden Center on the road and at the customer locations, requiring professionalism and clear communication at every point of contact.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license

• Proven experience in pruning, horticulture, and floriculture

• Strong knowledge of plant physiology, seasonal care, pest and disease management

• Able to lift and push up to 50 lbs, bend, squat, and work in various weather conditions

• Knowledge of soil sciences, pH, moisture, fertility, and impact on plants

• Understanding of species growth and which plants perennialize and which plants are annual in Zone 6b and 7a

• Strong skills in plant ID, particularly floriculture
