Fountains

  1. Drain the water out of your fountain at the end of the season. Do not allow the water to freeze in the fountain bowls and shells as this can cause cracking. We suggest using a plastic shop vac to thoroughly vacuum out your fountain, as it effectively collects all the water.

  2. When all the water is drained out, it is best to clean out the basin and pump tubing along with removing any debris, algae, or mineral buildup. We recommend not to use bleach products when cleaning out your fountain, as it can cause the finish to come off and weakens the pump tubing.

  3. Once the water is drained out and cleaned out, cover it with a Henri fountain cover or a large tarp. This will help keep debris and water out of your fountain during the winter.

  4. For additional safety, you can place towels, burlap, or blankets in the fountain basin to absorb any remaining moisture. This helps from water that might get in from freezing and causing damage.

  5. Do not use any antifreeze or other de-icing chemicals in your fountain, as they can damage the fountain and be toxic to humans and animals.
